Skin needling

Is it Safe?
Dermapen3 skin needling is a safe procedure with very low risks. Infection and scarring are rare. Since no melanin-absorbing laser and no heat are involved, the Dermapen3 is relatively safer than lasers or IPL, for darker skin types. Dermapen can be used to treat any part of the body. It is very effective in treating sensitive areas such as the face, neck, and chest.
Aftercare
There is generally very little bleeding. You may develop effects such as mild swelling, bruising, and redness. You will look slightly sunburned for 24 hours following the treatment which will heal in two to three days. There is generally no down time after your treatment, most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately.
Following your Dermapen skin needling treatment
1.avoid using lotions and moisturisers that contain perfumes, colours, glycolic acids and retinol for up to 5 days
2. no exercising for about 24 hours after your Dermapen treatment as sweat can cause a stinging sensation.
3. avoid direct exposure to the sun for about one or two weeks after your Dermapen treatment. It is recommended that you regularly use sunscreens.
Typically you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4 to 6 treatments. The best results will be visible about six to eight weeks after the treatment when the collagen starts to rebuild. The results will be more visible over a period of about a year. Dermapen treatments can be repeated every 4-6 weeks.
